Planning Ahead for Christmas Gift Shopping (Yes, I know what month it is!)
I know we do not like to mention that dreaded word, but Christmas is creeping up on us fast. Before you know it there will only be a few weeks left and the panic would have started. People will slowly start to break out in a cold sweat and worry about what they should be buying for everybody.
Last year I had plenty of time for Christmas shopping and it was brilliant. I did not have to worry about that last minute rush to the shopping centre and it was nice taking a leisurely walk around the town with no hassle and no crowds. Unfortunately this year I am working full time, so I need to get myself totally organised.
I find that the very worst bit about Christmas is pinning down the family and discovering what they actually want for Christmas. I do not mind spending money if I know what to get, it just annoys me though when you traipse round the shops, thinking would they like this, would they like that and coming home empty handed.
This year I would like to try and do my bit for the environment and have decided to take a look at eco gifts. It is always good when you feel you are helping others, and what better time to do this than at Christmas?
The sheer volume of choice out there for gifts is unbelivable, but while trawling through I think I've also managed to find the perfect ethical tableware - now I can be sure that my dinner table is going to look fantastic come Christmas time.
As per usual my husband never knows what to buy me, so I have dropped a few hints about recycled vases. That way he really does not have any valid excuses not to buy me flowers throughout the year. You have to give them a push in the right direction sometimes don't you.
Oh well I stray from the subject, I must return to my shopping lists and find out what Great Aunt Gladys wants this year - it will probably be the same as every other year - pink fluffy slippers!
